Ambassador Xu Hong Briefed the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to the Democratic Labour Party of Barbados

On November 27,Ambassador Xu Hong was invited to brief the 18th CPC National Congress to the leadership of the Democratic Labour Party of Barbados. President of the DLP, Prime Minister of Barbados, Mr. Freundel J. Stuart, vice presidents Michael Carrington(Speaker of House of Assembly), John D.E. Boyce(Minister of Transport & Works), Donville O. Inniss(Minister of Health), General Secretary George Pilgrim attended the meeting.

Ambassador Xu gave a brief introduction of the important outcomes, significance of the Congress, and China’s foreign policy. And he provided the English version of the keynote report delivered by Mr. Hu Jintao at the Congress to the DLP.

Prime Minister Stuart warmly congratulated the Congress and the new leadership of CPC and expressed that the DLP would be willing to enhance exchanges and deepen cooperation with CPC. He also indicated that the two parties could learn from each other to better the friendship between the two parties and promote the relations of Barbados and China.

Ambassador Xu praised the DLP’s efforts to strengthen the relations of the two parties and countries and wished to expand the exchanges and collaborations of the two sides to make contributions of the sustainable, comprehensive and healthy development of the relations between China and Barbados.
