Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia Jointly Meet the Press

On the morning of November 1, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia jointly met the press and answered questions after holding the 22nd China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang introduced the outcomes of the meeting and stressed that the Chinese side is willing to, on the basis of mutual respect, equal treatment, mutual benefit and common development, continuously advance China-Russia relations and cooperation in various fields, and push forward the establishment of a new type of international relations with win-win cooperation as the core, so as to benefit the two peoples and maintain world peace and stability.

In response to questions on small and medium-sized enterprises and the joint development of the Far East, Li Keqiang expressed that China and Russia should not only deepen cooperation in traditional areas, but also foster more cooperative growth points. Both sides should not only give full play to their big enterprises' advantages featuring large size and enormous strength to enhance cooperation in major strategic projects in such fields as energy, aerospace, aviation, and cross-border infrastructure, but also should make good use of small and medium-sized enterprises' advantages featuring tininess and flexibility and support them in developing new cooperation areas to put bilateral practical cooperation into the top gear of "innovation". Both Russia's Far East and China's central and western regions have huge development potential, and China and Russia will open up new space for growth through enhancing the joint development and cooperation in the Far East. China stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Russia in energy and investment in the Far East, in a bid to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Dmitry Medvedev expressed that Russia is satisfied with the remarkable results of the regular meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister and of relevant cooperation mechanisms. It is hoped that both sides could continuously stick to the willingness to cooperate actively, well implement existing major cooperation projects, actively explore new cooperation areas, and further expand the scale of bilateral trade. Both sides should also strengthen cultural and educational exchanges, and enhance the friendship between both peoples through more activities of thematic year of exchanges. Both countries should also deepen financial cooperation, and jointly push forward world economy for balanced and healthy development.

Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, Wang Yang, Liu Yandong, and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, Arkady Dvorkovich, Dmitry Rogozin and Yury Trutnev of Russia were present.
