Liu Yandong: Well Tell Story of "Belt and Road", and Open up Bright Future for China-Hungary Relations

On June 20, 2017 local time, Vice Premier Liu Yandong held talks with friendly personages from all circles of Hungary in Budapest.

Representatives including President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences László Lovász, President of the Pace University Jozsef Bodis, Rector of the National University of Public Service András Patyi, Rector of the Semmelweis University Ágoston Szél, Former Rector of Eötvös Loránd University Ferenc Hudecz, Deputy Director of Antall József Knowledge Centre in Hungary Ádám Kégler, Former Hungarian Ambassador to China Sandor Kusai, and Chair of the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship AssociationZombory Klára gave speeches. Combining with the own experiences, they talked about the friendship between China and Hungary, and actively offered suggestions for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Hungary in the future.

Liu Yandong extended her gratitude to everyone for their long-term commitment to promoting the friendship between China and Hungary. Liu Yandong pointed that since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Hungary 70 years ago, bilateral relations have enjoyed a sound development and China-Hungary relations have entered into the best period in history. With joint efforts of both sides, China-Hungary cooperation has created many "firsts", with prosperous development of people-to-people and cultural exchanges in fields such as education, science, technology, culture and health care, not only injecting vitality into bilateral relations, but also bring tangible benefits to the two peoples.

Liu Yandong emphasized that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán jointly decided to lift China-Hungary relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership this May, opening up broader prospects for the future bilateral relations. China's "Belt and Road" initiative is highly consistent with the "Opening to the East" strategy of Hungary, providing new opportunities for future cooperation between the two countries. Both countries should insist on mutual respect, continuously consolidate political mutual trust, deeply explore cooperation potentials, innovate in cooperation patterns and share development opportunities. Both sides should deepen cooperation in various areas such as education, science, technology, culture, health, sports and tourism, and forge new highlights for cooperation in film and television, think tank and media, so as to well tell the story of the "Belt of Road" between the two countries. Both sides should continually expand the scale of exchanges for overseas students in, and create favorable conditions for strengthening communication and relationship between young people in various areas. China welcomes friends from all walks of life in Hungary to visit China, and is willing to introduce China’s development and changes in all aspects to the Hungarian people, helping them get to know a real, three-dimensional and colorful China. China also welcomes the Hungarian people from all walks of life to continue to play a positive role in promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Hungary for more fruits, and in advancing the development of China-Hungary relations.
