Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto of Hungary

On May 13, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto of Hungary, who accompanied Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary to China for an official visit as well as the attendance at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Speaking highly of the current sound development of bilateral relations, both sides expressed that China and Hungary attach great importance to developing bilateral relations. Both countries will take Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s visit to China as an opportunity to push practical cooperation under the frameworks of the “Belt and Road” and the “16+1 cooperation” for more outcomes. Peter Szijjarto said that the Hungarian side firmly supports and will actively participate in the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”, and the country stands ready to continue to play an active role in promoting the healthy development of Europe-China relations.
