2017/04/25

On April 24, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry of Egypt while attending the 1st Ministerial Conference of the Ancient Civilizations Forum in Athens.

Both sides could take this as an opportunity to further integrate development strategies, tighten the interest bond, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. China stands ready to continuously maintain close communication and coordination in international affairs with Egypt.

Sameh Shoukry expressed that developing Egypt-China relations is the key point of its foreign policy. The two countries hold similar stances and keep close coordination in international affairs. Egypt is willing to, together with China, implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state during their meeting, consolidate the development of comprehensive strategic partnership, and advance cooperation in various fields. Egypt stands ready to discuss new channels of bilateral cooperation under the "Belt and Road" framework.
