Wang Yi Sends Message of Condolences to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of Russia Over the Explosion in St. Petersburg Metro

On April 3, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of condolences to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of Russia over the explosion at the metro station in St. Petersburg, which caused heavy casualties.

Wang Yi expressed that I am shocked to learn about the explosion in the St. Petersburg metro of your country that caused heavy casualties. China strongly condemns this terrorist act that targeted civilians. I would like to extend the deepest condolences to the victims, and express sincere sympathies to the wounded and bereaved families.

The Chinese side firmly opposes all forms of terrorism, firmly supports Russia's efforts in combating terrorism, and is willing to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation with the whole international community including Russia.
