On the afternoon of March, 25, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop of Australia, who was just back from an international conference in the US, came to the hotel where Premier Li Keqiang stayed to meet with Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Julie Bishop expressed that Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Australia this time is fairly successful, pushing bilateral relations for a series of positive progress. The Australian side is willing to make joint efforts with China to promote the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields. She briefed Wang Yi on the international anti-terrorism conference held in the US, and hoped Australia and China to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in anti-terrorism.

Wang Yi noted that the complete success of Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Australia this time sent out a strong signal of jointly safeguarding the global free trade system, maintaining regional and world peace and stability, and preserving the harmonious coexistence of diverse civilizations. Both sides agreed to build an era of diversified cooperation featuring prosperous free trade, and launched three major dialogue mechanisms for innovation, energy and security, which inject new important connotation into China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership. An important consensus reached by Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is that both sides should continue to uphold the principle of mutual respect to push bilateral relations for healthy and stable development.
