President Lansana Conté of Guinea Meets with Yang Jiechi

On March 22, 2017 local time, President Lansana Conté of Guinea met with State Councilor Yang Jiechi in Conakry.

Yang Jiechi conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings to Lansana Conté. Yang Jiechi said that his visit this time is to implement the consensus reached by leaders of both countries and the outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and advance China-Guinea cooperation and development to better benefit the two peoples. China is willing to spare no efforts to promote bilateral friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, encourage and support Chinese enterprises to carry out in-depth discussions on mutually beneficial cooperation with the Guinean side and strive to transform bilateral political mutual trust and economic complementary advantages into more specific outcomes. Congratulating Lansana Conté on his election as the rotating presidency of the African Union, Yang Jiechi expressed that China is a sincere cooperation partner of Africa, and supports Lansana Conté to fulfill his duty as presidency and play a greater role in safeguarding Africa's unity as well as advancing peace and development in Africa.

Lansana Conté asked Yang Jiechi to convey his warm greetings to President Xi Jinping, and thanked President Xi Jinping's attachment to developing Guinea-China relations as well as China's strong support and assistance to the country for a long time. Lansana Conté noted that the Guinean side hopes to continuously work with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, resources, agriculture, infrastructure, human resource development and other fields, and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Guinea and help the country to improve its sustainable development capacity, so as to speed up the economic and social development of the country.
