2017/02/20

On February 20, 2017, visiting Foreign Minister Tsend Munkh-Orgil of Mongolia briefed Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the current economic difficulty of Mongolia, informed the preliminary assistance agreement reached between the Mongolian government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as well as other international financial institutions, and thanked the Chinese government for its long-term support to Mongolia as well as the measures to be taken this time.

Wang Yi expressed that China has always upheld the neighborhood diplomacy featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness. When our neighbors are in trouble, we should offer a hand. When our friends need help, we are willing to lend a helping hand. China will provide assistance within its capacity for Mongolia to overcome difficulties through the IMF and other multilateral and bilateral channels. It is believed that under the support of the international community and the efforts of the Mongolian people, Mongolia will soon get out of the trouble and embark on the path of economic recovery and development.
