Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Alfonso Dastis of Spain

On February 17, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Alfonso Dastis of Spain on the sidelines of the 53rd Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany.

Wang Yi expressed that Spain is a good friend and an important cooperation partner of China in the EU, and both sides are each other's important trade and investment objects. Bilateral economic and trade cooperation is continuously deepening with promising prospects. China is ready to work with Spain to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both sides, maintain high-level exchanges, expand practical cooperation and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to constantly push bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for new progress.

Alfonso Dastis said that he completely agrees with China's stance and propositions expounded in the speech delivered by Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Munich Security Conference. Spain and China are good friends with mutual respect and should further enhance cooperation to become better friends. Spain is willing to, together with China, enhance high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation in economy, trade and investment, and explore third-party cooperation in Latin America. Current international situation is full of uncertainties. Spain is ready to work with China to step up strategic communication, push forward the globalization process and oppose protectionism.
