The 53rd Munich Security Conference Convenes
--Foreign Minister Wang Yi Attends and Delivers a Speech

On February 17, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the 53rd Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany, and delivered a keynote speech themed Adhere to Cooperation Concept and Make Correct Choice at the plenary session. More than 300 people including President of Poland, President of Ukraine, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the UK, Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, many former political heavyweights, experts and scholars attended the conference.

Wang Yi expressed that at the beginning of 2017, President Xi Jinping delivered two important speeches in Davos and Geneva consecutively, calling for building a community of shared future for mankind and achieving shared and win-win results. This is the Chinese proposal coming out of China's mastery of the historical laws and the trend of the times as well as focusing on the common and long-term interests of the mankind, which receives great attention and extensive recognition from all parties.

Wang Yi noted that peace and development are the mainstream of today's world. To address various challenges facing the current world, we need to remain committed to multilateralism, constantly enhance cooperation between major countries, strive to improve global governance and firmly advance the process of all types of regional cooperation. China will continue to well manage its own affairs, unswervingly and comprehensively deepen reform, expand opening up, and always be a builder of world peace, a contributor of global development and a defender of multilateralism so as to make new contributions to the cause of human peace and development through its own development.
