The Turkish side is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in security, law enforcement and anti-terrorism, and continuously increase mutual support to each other’s efforts in maintaining sovereignty, security and stability.

Wang Yi conveyed warm regards from President Xi Jinping to Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Wang Yi expressed that my visit this time aims at implementing the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Mr. President, and launch the China-Turkey foreign ministers’ consultation mechanism. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and I successfully held the first meeting of the mechanism yesterday, during which we exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern, reached a great deal of new consensus and deepened mutual understanding as well as trust. Both China and Turkey are countries with ancient civilizations and large developing countries. China values its relations with Turkey, and is willing to, together with Turkey, maintain high-level exchanges and strategic communication, adhere to the spirit of the ancient Silk Road and jointly build the "Belt and Road" initiative, so as to make new contributions to promoting respective national development, revitalizing the Eurasian continent and boosting human civilization progress. China stands ready to integrate the "Belt and Road" construction and the "Middle Corridor" vision, advance cooperation in major projects, such as the East-West High-speed Railway, continuously open up new cooperation areas in this process and tap new cooperation potentials. Both sides should especially deepen cooperation in security and anti-terrorism and enhance strategic mutual trust, so as to clear the way for bilateral all-round cooperation.

On the same day, Wang Yi laid a wreath at the Ataturk Mausoleum.
