Li Keqiang Arrives in Astana for the 3rd China-Kazakhstan Regular Prime Ministers' Meeting and Official Visit to Kazakhstan

On the evening of November 3, 2016 local time, at the invitation of Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Premier Li Keqiang arrived at Astana International Airport by special plane for the 3rd China-Kazakhstan Regular Prime Ministers' Meeting as well as his official visit to Kazakhstan.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev welcomed Li Keqiang at the airport and held a grand welcoming ceremony. The military band played the national anthems of both countries. Accompanied by Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Li Keqiang reviewed the guard of honor.

H.E. Zhang Hanhui, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan also greeted Premier Li Keqiang at the airport.

Li Keqiang said that China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighbors. The two countries enjoy fruitful outcomes in mutually beneficial cooperation, especially production capacity cooperation, which has played a leading and exemplary role. The Chinese side looks forward to further consolidating and deepening friendship and mutual trust and actively exploring new growth points in bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan, so as to lift China-Kazakhstan good-neighborly friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership to higher levels.

During the visit in Kazakhstan, Li Keqiang will meet with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and hold meetings as well as attend the inauguration ceremony of a China-Kazakhstan production capacity cooperation project with Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

Li Keqiang arrived in Astana after successfully attending the 15th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Governments (Prime Ministers) and concluding his successful official visit to Kyrgyzstan. When leaving Bishkek, First Deputy Prime Minister Abul Gazzi Jef of Kyrgyzstan, H.E. Xiao Qinghua, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and others saw Premier Li Keqiang off at the airport.
