Li Keqiang Meets with President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan

On the evening of November 2, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Presidential Office in Bishkek with President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan.

Li Keqiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping's sincere greetings to President Almazbek Atambayev, and expressed that China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. The two heads of state have reached several important consensus during their successful meeting on the sidelines of the Tashkent Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in June. Upholding the principle of mutual respect, equal treatment, mutual benefit and win-win results, the Chinese side is always willing to, together with the Kyrgyz side, deepen political mutual trust, intensify practical cooperation, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges and reinforce coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to push forward the continuous development of bilateral relations and cooperation as well as better benefit the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out that at present, the world economy undergoes slack recovery and the regional situation is complicated and severe. China and Kyrgyzstan should tap potentials, be innovative, strengthen cooperation in production capacity and major infrastructure projects, expand cooperation in security and law enforcement, promote the growth of two-way trade and investment and boost regional connectivity, security and stability, so as to forge a favorable environment for the realization of common development.

Almazbek Atambayev said that China shows sincerity and friendliness to Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz side is grateful for China's assistance, which has never had any political strings attached, to the stability and development of Kyrgyzstan. Both countries harbor strong desire in expanding practical cooperation. Kyrgyzstan is willing to make joint efforts with China to implement bilateral cooperation consensus, vigorously strengthen cooperation in such fields as transportation, telecommunication and finance and unswervingly push forward the in-depth development of Kyrgyzstan-China friendly cooperation
