Foreign Minister Wang Yi Accepts Letter of Appointment from Newly-Appointed UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in China Nicholas Rosellini

On October 25, 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in China Nicholas Rosellini, and accepted his letter of appointment.

Wang Yi welcomed Nicholas Rosellini to assume his post in China, and expressed that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of the People's Republic of China in the UN. Over the past 45 years, as a founding member of the UN and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China always staunchly supports the UN and multilateralism as well as unswervingly upholds the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China is willing to constantly expand cooperation with the UN and its affiliated organizations and jointly elevate bilateral cooperation to new stages for new achievements.

Nicholas Rosellini noted that China plays a significant role in international affairs and the work of the UN. It is an honor for him to work in China. He is willing to make contributions to assisting China in achieving development and strengthening cooperation between the UN and China.
