Xi Jinping Sends Message of Condolences to Queen Sirikit over the Passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand

On October 13, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to Queen Sirikit over the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. On behalf of the Chinese people and in his own name, Xi Jinping extended deep condolences over the passing of Bhumibol Adulyadej and offered heartfelt sympathy to other members of the Thai royal family and the Thai people.

Xi Jinping expressed in the message that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was the guide of the national development of Thailand and an important promoter of China-Thailand friendship. Such a good relationship between the two countries today was directly linked with the great importance and personal efforts made by King Bhumibol Adulyadej himself. With his personal care and promotion as well as the concerted efforts by the two countries, China-Thailand friendship has grown into a lofty tree with luxuriant foliage and fruitful outcomes. The passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej is a great loss for the peoples of Thailand and China and he will live in the hearts of the two peoples forever.

Xi Jinping reiterated that attaching importance to developing China-Thailand friendly relations, China is willing to, together with Thailand, build on past achievements and make new progress, continuously consolidate the good-neighborly friendship and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to benefit the two countries and their peoples.
