Li Keqiang Meets with Newly-appointed Diplomatic Envoys of 35 Countries to China

On the afternoon of September 30, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with newly-appointed diplomatic envoys of 35 countries to China on the eve of the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Li Keqiang shook hands and held warm talks with all diplomatic envoys. Li Keqiang welcomed them to assume their posts in China, and asked them to convey sincere greetings and best wishes to leaders and people of their countries.

Li Keqiang expressed that China pursues independent and peaceful foreign policies as well as sticks to the path of peaceful development. China is willing to enhance mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results with all countries on the basis of mutual respect and treating each other as equals. While bringing benefits to its own people, China will also strengthen global development partnerships and tackle various challenges with all other sides to jointly promote the robust, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth of the world economy.

Li Keqiang pointed out that as the largest developing country in the world, China, like many countries, face the important tasks of developing economy and improving livelihood. China will adhere to realizing self-development through deepening reform and expanding opening up, continuously elevate the level of the open economy, speed up the transformation and upgrade of the Chinese economy and achieve common development with other countries through open cooperation. Maintaining medium-to-high growth rate and moving towards medium-to-high level will provide more and better development opportunities for the Chinese economy itself and all countries in the world. It is hoped that the diplomatic envoys could give play to advantages and be a bridge for the friendship and cooperation between their countries and China. The Chinese government stands ready to provide convenience and assistance to the duty fulfillment of all diplomatic envoys to China.

Diplomatic envoys extended warm congratulations on the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and conveyed greetings from leaders of their countries to Chinese leaders and people. They said that China plays an important role in safeguarding world peace and advancing common development. China has achieved remarkable progress in development. Keenly aware of the great responsibility as diplomatic envoys to China, they stand ready to make unremitting efforts to develop the relationship and deepen cooperation between their countries and China as well as enhance the well-being of people of respective countries.

After the meeting, diplomatic envoys of all countries to China attended the reception celebrating the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China upon Li Keqiang’s invitation.
