Li Keqiang Meets with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus

On the morning of September 30, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, who was paying a state visit to China.

Li Keqiang expressed that China regards Belarus as an important cooperation partner. President Xi Jinping held fruitful talks with you yesterday, and the two countries issued a joint statement, elevating the level of China-Belarus relations. China is willing to, together with Belarus, always uphold mutual respect and equal treatment, enhance high-level exchanges and carry out close communication and cooperation in extensive areas, so as to continuously push forward bilateral political mutual trust and practical cooperation in various fields.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to integrate the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative with Belarus' strategy of building industrial parks, give play to its radiation and driving effects, mainly advance bilateral cooperation in international production capacity and equipment manufacturing and better meet the needs of the economic and social development of Belarus, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Both sides should strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as local-level communication, and cultivate new growth points of China-Belarus cooperation. It is hoped that Belarus can offer more favorable conditions and convenience for Chinese enterprises to invest in the country.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that both countries enjoy long-term friendship, mutual trust, equal treatment as well as huge potential in mutually beneficial cooperation. Highly appreciating China's adherence to reform and opening-up and the path of peaceful development, Belarus is willing to learn from China's development experience, expand exchanges with China, integrate development strategies of both countries, strengthen bilateral practical cooperation in such areas as infrastructure construction, industrial parks, science and technology, and will try to provide more convenience for Chinese companies to invest in Belarus, so as to jointly open up a new future of bilateral relations and cooperation.
