Yang Jiechi Meets with Advisor to the Egyptian President for National Security Affairs Faiza Abou el-Naga

On September 27, 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Advisor to the Egyptian President for National Security Affairs Faiza Abou el-Naga at Zhongnanhai.

Yang Jiechi expressed that Egypt is a major Arab and African country with great influence. China and Egypt enjoy traditional friendship. President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt have exchanged visits and held five meetings in recent years, which have charted the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Egypt to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, constantly consolidate political mutual trust, expand cooperation in trade, economy, and people-to-people and cultural engagement, push production capacity cooperation projects under the framework of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative for early progress and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international affairs.

Faiza Abou el-Naga said that grateful for China's support to the stability and development of Egypt, the country hopes to further deepen cooperation in various fields with China in the new era.
