Wang Yi Holds Telephone Talks with Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault of France

On September 11, 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held telephone talks with Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault of France at request.

Jean-Marc Ayrault said that the French side congratulates China on successfully hosting the G20 Hangzhou Summit. The meeting between the two heads of state is successful as well.

Wang Yi noted that China is willing to make joint efforts with France to push China-France comprehensive strategic partnership for new development and new connotation.

Both sides mainly exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula issue. Wang Yi elaborated China’s stance on the nuclear test of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Jean-Marc Ayrault expressed that France appreciates China’s responsible role in persistently advancing denuclearization on the peninsula. France is ready to strengthen communication and coordination in this regard with China.
