Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia

On the evening of September 7, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at National Convention Center of Vientiane with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia.

Li Keqiang noted that China and Cambodia are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. China will unwaveringly promote China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperation, and support Cambodia to safeguard its sovereignty and independence, maintain domestic stability, accelerate economic development and lift its international position. China is willing to, together with Cambodia, maintain high-level contact, intensify strategic communication, uphold mutual support and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various areas, so as to further boost bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang hoped that both sides could keep up efforts in deepening and advancing cooperation in major fields such as production capacity, economy, trade, agriculture, water conservancy, and infrastructure construction, so as to aid the economic and social development as well as livelihood improvement of Cambodia and better realize mutual benefit and win-win results. China stands ready to strengthen cooperation in culture, tourism, education and other fields with Cambodia and encourage more Chinese tourists to travel to the country. It is hoped that the two countries can continue to intensify coordination within China-ASEAN and Lancang-Mekong River cooperation mechanisms as well as jointly facilitate regional cooperation, stability and prosperity.

Hun Sen said that Cambodia-China relations are very friendly with close contacts between both leaders and continuously deepened cooperation between the two sides, which fully embodies the high level of Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Grateful for China’s assistance in improving people’s livelihood, the Cambodian side is willing to work with China to reinforce high level exchanges as well as extend practical cooperation, and push for the development of ASEAN-China relations.
