Wang Yi Talks about China's "Three Objections" and "Three Persistence" on Korean Peninsula Issue

On August 24, 2016, when jointly meeting the press together with Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan and Foreign Minister Yun Byung-Se of the Republic of Korea (ROK) after they attended the 8th Trilateral Foreign Ministers' Meeting among China, Japan and the ROK in Tokyo, Japan, Foreign Minister Wang Yi introduced that a trilateral discussion on the situation of the Korean Peninsula has been carried out. China opposes the developing process of nuclear missiles by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, opposes any remarks and actions that will trigger tension on the Korean Peninsula, and opposes all measures that violate the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2270. China will continue sticking to realizing denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, insisting on settling all relevant issues through dialogues and negotiations, and adhering to the consistent and firm position of maintaining peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the whole region.
