Liu Yandong Meets with Deputy Prime Minister Sok An of Cambodia and Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Jantong of Thailand

On July 31, 2016, Vice Premier Liu Yandong met respectively in Guiyang with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers Sok An of Cambodia and Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Jantong of Thailand, who were in China to attend the 9th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week.

Liu Yandong said that current China-Cambodia relations maintain a sound momentum of development. Cambodia has given firm support to China on issues of China's major concerns including the South China Sea issue, the Taiwan issue and others, which China highly appreciates and is sincerely grateful for. China is willing to jointly well implement the consensus reached by both leaders and comprehensively deepen practical cooperation in various fields with Cambodia. It is hoped that the two countries can continuously deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to enhance the friendship between the two peoples.

Liu Yandong said that the two peoples of China and Thailand enjoy profound sentiments like members of one family. China is ready to, together with Thailand, jointly enhance the docking of development strategies, strengthen cooperation in railway and other major projects, and promote all-round cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, education, culture, and tourism, so as to constantly deepen bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue relations. China stands ready to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN countries including Thailand, so as to promote China-ASEAN relations for greater development.

Sok An and Prajin Jantong thanked the Chinese side for the thoughtful arrangements to prepare for the 9th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, and expressed that both Cambodia and Thailand are willing to continuously advance comprehensive strategic partnerships of cooperation with China, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and boost cooperation between the ASEAN and China.
