Wang Yi Meets with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz of Pakistan

On July 25, 2016 local time, when attending a series of Foreign Ministers' meetings on East Asian cooperation in Vientiane of Laos, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz of Pakistan.

Wang Yi expressed that China-Pakistan relations maintain a strong momentum of development. Both sides have conducted in-depth communication and coordinated stances on bilateral relations and challenges confronting the two countries, vigorously advancing the development of China-Pakistan all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation and contributing to regional peace and stability. China thanks Pakistan for extending sympathies over the flood disaster in southern China and providing 10 thousand tons of rice for disaster relief, which fully embodies the brotherly friendship of sharing weal and woe between the two countries. China is willing to, together with Pakistan, continue to support each other, steadily advance the construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor and the "Belt and Road", and expand cooperation in culture and other areas, so as to constantly push forward bilateral relations.

Sartaj Aziz noted that both countries enjoy sound cooperation in various fields such as politics and economy. Grateful for China’s support and assistance, Pakistan will continue to firmly support China's stance on issues concerning its core interests, and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in anti-terrorism, culture as well as other fields. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Pakistan stands ready to work with China to well host a series of celebration activities and ensure the smooth progress of Pakistan-China economic corridor and other projects.
