Xi Jinping Sends Message of Condolences to President Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh on the Hostage Crisis

On July 4, 2016, President Xi Jinping sent a message to President Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh, extending his condolences over the killing of hostages in Bangladesh.

In his message, President Xi Jinping expressed that I am shocked to learn about the serious hostage-taking incident by terrorists in Dhaka which has caused heavy casualties. On behalf of the Chinese government and people and in my own name, I would like to express deep condolences to the victims and extend sincere sympathies to the injured and the bereaved families.

China opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns this terrorist attack. China firmly supports Bangladesh to fight against terrorists, safeguard national stability and protect its people’s safety.
