Zhang Dejiang Meets with President Vladimir Putin of Russia

On June 25, 2016, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

Zhang Dejiang said that President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin have personally made guidance and planning for bilateral relations from a long-term and strategic height. The two countries are each other's solid strategic supporter in politics and prior cooperation partners in economy. The two sides conduct close coordination and cooperation in the international arena, and the strategic significance of bilateral cooperation is more prominent. We should, under the strategic guidance of both heads of state, well implement bilateral cooperation in various fields, and inherit the notion of generations of friendship and peace, so as to push forward the continuous development of China-Russia comprehensive partnership of coordination.

Zhang Dejiang expressed that exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies have been productive, as they learned from each others' legislative experiences, helped advance economic, trade and local-level cooperation, and maintained coordination and cooperation in multilateral parliamentary organizations. Both legislative bodies should continuously maintain sound communication, so as to provide legal support for bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Vladimir Putin expressed that Russia attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Exchanges between parliaments are important components of Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. It is hoped that legislative bodies of both countries can continue to enhance communication and cooperation.
