Wang Yi Meets with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh of Viet Nam

On June 13, 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh of Viet Nam, who was attending the Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Yuxi, Yunnan.

Wang Yi expressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong realized mutual visits last year, and reached important consensus on consolidating good-neighbourliness and friendliness and deepening practical cooperation, achieving a sound opening of China-Viet Nam relations in the new era. Both countries should jointly well implement the consensus reached by the two leaders, and promote China-Viet Nam relations to maintain the momentum of healthy development. China is ready to, together with Viet Nam, follow the idea of advancing the bilateral cooperation along the three main lines of sea, land and finance, intensify the docking of development strategies, jointly build the "Belt and Road" initiative as well as the "Two Corridors and One Circle" development plan, push for early harvest from production capacity cooperation, strengthen cooperation in education, youth and other aspects, and tamp the public opinion basis for bilateral relations. The two sides need to implement the consensus of both leaders and jointly safeguard maritime peace and stability.

Pham Binh Minh said that Viet Nam is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with China, advance the docking of the "Two Corridors and One Circle" development plan with the "Belt and Road" initiative and properly deal with maritime disputes in line with the consensus of both leaders.
