Li Keqiang Meets with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany Who is in China for an Official Visit and the 4th Round of China-Germany Inter-governmental Consultation

On June 12, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang met in Beijing with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany.

Li Keqiang expressed that at present, China-Germany relations are continuously moving forward at a high level. The Action Outline for China-Germany Cooperation issued during the 3rd round of China-Germany inter-governmental consultation is being steadily implemented and cooperation in various fields between both countries constantly obtains new progress. China is fully confident of the future of China-Germany relations and cooperation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that in order to deepen bilateral cooperation, China and Germany need to give play to innovative thinking, expand common interests and jointly forge more new impetus and highlights. China is ready to have in-depth discussions with Germany on bilateral cooperation in such areas as the docking of China's "Made in China 2025" blueprint and the "Industry 4.0" strategy of Germany, cooperation in third-party market, intelligent manufacturing, innovation and entrepreneurship at the forthcoming 4th round of inter-governmental consultation. China welcomes more investment from enterprises of other countries including Germany. It is hoped that the two countries can enhance communication and cooperation within the G20 and jointly devote themselves to boosting global economic growth and safeguarding world peace and stability.

Angela Merkel expressed that Germany-China relations enjoy sound development. As an important mechanism between the two countries, the Germany-China inter-governmental consultation has promoted the comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. Germany is willing to work with China to well implement the Action Outline, and hold a successful 4th round of inter-governmental consultation, so as to push for further development of bilateral relations and cooperation.
