Yang Jiechi Meets with Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan

On April 30, 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai with Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan.

Yang Jiechi expressed that at present, the improvement momentum of China-Japan relations is still fragile and complicated in general. It is hoped that Japan can meet China half way, implement the consensus between the two countries on being "cooperative partners that pose no threats to each other" in accordance with the four political documents and the four-point principled agreement between China and Japan, and make greater efforts to steadily improve China-Japan relations through practical actions.

Fumio Kishida said Japan is willing to work with China to jointly promote the improvement and development of Japan-China relations on the basis of the four political documents between the two countries.
