Yang Jiechi Meets with Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov of Kazakhstan

On April 29, 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai with Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov of Kazakhstan.

Yang Jiechi expressed that China-Kazakhstan relations enjoy a sound momentum of development with continuously deepening cooperation in various fields. It is hoped that both sides can well implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, strengthen mutual support, promote the docking of development strategies, pay attention to cooperation in major fields such as production capacity, energy and security, and boost coordination and cooperation within frameworks including the UN, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), so as to promote bilateral relations to a higher level.

Erlan Idrissov expressed that Kazakhstan pays high attention to the global role of China and developing relations with China. Kazakhstan stands ready to make joint efforts with China to advance cooperation in various fields, and conduct close coordination in international affairs, so as to achieve greater development of Kazakhstan-China relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional situation and other topics.
