Yang Jiechi Meets with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi of Pakistan

On February 2, 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi of Pakistan in Beijing.

Yang Jiechi said that President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Pakistan last year, during which China-Pakistan relations were elevated to the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. China is willing to, together with Pakistan, take this opportunity to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, maintain close high-level exchanges, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to constantly advance China-Pakistan relations.

Syed Tariq Fatemi said that Pakistan regards China as its most trustworthy friend and partner, thanks China for its long-term support and assistance, and stands ready to work with China to well build the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, deepen communication and cooperation in all fields and promote the constant development of bilateral relations.
