Li Keqiang Holds Telephone Talks at Request with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of Greece

On the afternoon of January 19, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang held telephone talks at request with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of Greece.

Li Keqiang stated that at present China-Greece relations enjoy a sound development momentum and practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields has made gratifying progress. China appreciates that the Greek government attaches importance to developing relations with China and actively supports the development of China-EU relations. It is hoped that both sides will take the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to continuously strengthen political mutual trust and promote cooperation in key areas and major projects for new achievements.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the constant deepening of cooperation between China and Greece in projects such as the Piraeus Port is conducive to achieving mutual benefits and win-win results. It is hoped that the Greek government will provide more convenience, support and protection for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Greece.

Alexis Tsipras noted that the Greek government values its relations and cooperation with China and is ready to enhance high-level exchanges with China and promote bilateral cooperation in major projects such as the Piraeus Port for new progress, so as to propel the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for greater development in the new decade.
