Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda of Tajikistan

On the afternoon of December 15, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Yingbin Hotel of the Yellow River in Zhengzhou with Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda of Tajikistan who was in China to attend the 14th Prime Ministers’ Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States.

Li Keqiang said that China and Tajikistan are good-neighborly and friendly strategic partners and their high-level strategic mutual trust serves as a solid political foundation of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. The Chinese side is willing to, in the spirit of mutual benefits and win-win results, pursue common development with the Tajik side to bring benefits to the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the production capacity cooperation between China and Tajikistan enjoys potential and foundation. It is expected that the two sides will further earnestly implement major project cooperation covering energy, building materials, engineering machinery and other areas, contributing to Tajikistan’s industrial upgrading and industrialization process. China also stands ready to assist Tajikistan in upgrading infrastructure, boost the connectivity of the two countries’ transportation and communications, actively explore various ways of financing, and construct well the 2nd phase project of the China-Tajikistan Highway. China is ready to make full use of complementary advantages to conduct modern agricultural cooperation, implement well bilateral projects of agricultural and industrial parks and support the cooperation in sectors including agriculture and production capacity between its major agricultural province Henan and Tajikistan.

Kokhir Rasulzoda congratulated China on its successful hosting of the SCO prime ministers’ meeting. He said that Tajikistan and China maintain high-level strategic mutual trust. Tajikistan appreciates the selfless support and assistance from China, stands ready to dock the development strategies of the two countries and boost cooperation with China in multiple fields such as economy and trade, agriculture and infrastructure construction, and welcomes Chinese enterprises to further participate in the process of Tajikistan’s economic construction.
