On November 26, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia at the Great Hall of the People.

Xi Jinping welcomed Aleksandar Vučić to pay an official visit to China and attend the fourth Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC). Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Serbia enjoy long-term traditional friendship. The stable development of the bilateral relations mainly benefits from the constant mutual respect and mutual support of both sides. China is willing to work with Serbia to continue deepening bilateral strategic partnership and strengthening cooperation in politics, economy and culture so as to continuously benefit the two peoples. Serbia is implementing the "reindustrialization strategy", and China is pushing forward the "Belt and Road" initiative. Both sides can actively advance the docking of their development strategies, focus on tapping cooperation potentials in fields such as resources, finance, telecommunications and agriculture, and accelerate major cooperation projects. We are willing to take the opportunity of signing the "Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Advancing the Building of the 'Belt and Road'" between China and Serbia, steadily promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and seek and cultivate new growth points for cooperation. Strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges is the key to the enduring and solid China-Serbia friendship. Both sides should strengthen mutual understanding, fasten the belt of friendship, make more efforts to connect people's hearts, and expand cooperation in culture, education and tourism to consolidate the public opinion basis of the bilateral long-term friendship.

Xi Jinping stressed that China is willing to work with Serbia to actively make contribution to the development of China-Europe relations. He hopes that Serbia will continue to play a backbone role in "16+1 cooperation" and continually push forward "16+1 cooperation" to make the bilateral relations and sub-regional cooperation achieve outcomes that benefit the two peoples.

Aleksandar Vučić said that China is a sincere friend of Serbia. Serbia thanks China for giving long-term and strong support and is satisfied with the development of Serbia-China relations.
