Wang Yi Meets with Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken of US

On November 17 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at request with Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken of the US in Manila, the Philippines.

Wang Yi expressed that President Xi Jinping and President Barack Obama had sound interactions during the G20 Summit in Antalya. Leaders of both countries maintaining contact and communication is crucial for the sound and stable development of China-US relations. China and the US share cooperation potential in extensive areas. Both sides should strive to expand consensus, properly handle disputes and emphasize on turning various challenges into cooperation opportunities, which are completely in line with the common interests of both countries as well as the international community.

Anthony Blinken noted that leaders of both countries should exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues in a timely manner. The US side is willing to work with the Chinese side to effectively cope with various hotspot issues and global challenges. The US side supports China in hosting the G20 Summit in2016 and will make positive efforts for the success of the summit.

Both sides also exchanged views on the Syrian issue, tackling climate change, maintaining maritime stability and other topics.
