Zhang Dejiang Meets with President François Hollande of France

On November 3, 2015, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President François Hollande of France.

Zhang Dejiang expressed that yesterday, President Xi Jinping and Your Excellency Mr. President reached new and important consensus on developing the close and long-lasting China-France comprehensive strategic partnership, which not only injected new impetus into the development of bilateral relations, but also demonstrated the sound cooperation between China and France on climate change and other global issues. The NPC and the French National Assembly and Senate have been keeping frequent exchanges with remarkable results. The legislative bodies of the two countries should continue to strengthen friendly exchanges, give play to the role of regular exchange mechanisms and the friendship groups, enrich topics of exchanges, improve the legal frame of bilateral cooperation and promote friendly cooperation in all circles of both societies so as to jointly ensure the China-France relations continue developing in the forefront of China's relationship with the Western countries.

François Hollande noted that the NPC enjoys an important status. It is hoped that the French Parliament and the NPC can enhance exchanges and cooperation in all areas and expected that parliaments of all countries and people from all walks of life can make positive contributions to the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.
