On October 16, 2015, Zhang Gaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Premier, met at the Great Hall of the People with Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera of Bolivia.

Zhang Gaoli said that Bolivia is an important country in Latin America and the Chinese side attaches great importance to developing its relations with Bolivia. Since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship 30 years ago, the bilateral relations have developed smoothly, with practical cooperation in all areas being carried out in an in-depth way. Last year President Xi Jinping and President Evo Morales met in Brasilia and reached a series of important consensus, vigorously leading and pushing forward the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with Bolivia to stick to mutual benefit and win-win results, strengthen practical cooperation in various areas, give play to the "twin engines" role of trade and investment, steadily advance cooperation in areas of infrastructure construction, resources and energy and proactively expand production capacity cooperation to benefit the two countries and their peoples.

Alvaro Garcia Linera said that the Bolivian side admires China's development achievements and regards China as an important strategic partner. Bolivia is willing to work with China to further implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and constantly deepen practical cooperation in all areas to achieve common development.
