By putting forward a series of propositions and initiatives on South-South cooperation and other issues at the summits for the 70th anniversary of the UN, Xi Jinping charted a clear course for advancing South-South cooperation and global development. Against this background, the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) soon to be held in South Africa is of greater significance. African countries should, through the Summit, establish a closer relationship with China and earnestly push cooperation in such key fields as economic and social development. He is looking forward to co-chairing the Summit with President Xi Jinping and warmly welcomes his visit to South Africa. It is hoped that both sides could well implement the preparatory work to ensure a complete success of the Summit and the visit.

President Xi Jinping will soon co-chair the Summit with President Jacob Zuma in South Africa and pay a visit to the country, which is of milestone significance to deepening China-South Africa and China-Africa relations. China will, together with South Africa, take the important opportunity of the development of China-South Africa and China-Africa relations to speed up implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries on deepening bilateral relations, push bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level, and boost coordination as the co-chairs to make the Summit a historic event for China and Africa to enhance unity and seek future cooperation.
