Liu Yandong Meets with Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond of the UK

On September 17 local time, Vice Premier Liu Yandong met in London with Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond of the UK.

Liu Yandong expressed that at present China-UK relations enjoy a sound development momentum, and both sides should double cherish it and work together to promote greater development of the bilateral relations. The highest priority is to make full preparations thus ensure a complete success from President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the UK next month. It is hoped that the UK side will continue to make positive contributions to the further development of China-EU relations.

Philip Hammond expressed that this year is significant in the history of UK-China relations. President Xi Jinping’s forthcoming state visit to the UK will further elevate the strategic height of UK-China relations and push the UK-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
