Zhang Dejiang Meets with President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania

On September 15, 2015, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met with President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania at the Great Hall of the People.

Zhang Dejiang said that China and Mauritania boast profound traditional friendship. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mauritania diplomatic relations. President Xi Jinping affirmed with Your Excellency Mr. President the direction for future development of bilateral relations yesterday and both sides also signed a number of cooperation documents. The Chinese side will stick to the principles of treating each other sincerely, pursuing both benefit and righteousness as well as mutual benefit and win-win results and work with the Mauritanian side under the guidance of the strategies set by leaders of the two nations to consolidate political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and push bilateral relations for better development. The NPC of China stands ready to, together with the Parliament of Mauritania, actively develop friendly relations, and focus on strengthening legislation cooperation and exchanges of experience of governance and administration of state affairs, promoting friendly exchanges of different social sectors and advancing in-depth cooperation in various fields with an aim to serve each other's domestic development and deepen bilateral cooperation,.

Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz said that he appreciates China's support and assistance over the years. China is a model for other developing countries. The Mauritanian side hopes to deepen bilateral practical cooperation and expects legislative bodies of the two countries to intensify communication.
