President Vladimir Putin of Russia Meets with Wang Yang

On September 4 local time, President Vladimir Putin of Russia met in Vladivostok with Vice Premier Wang Yang, who was invited to attend the first Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) there.

Vladimir Putin thanked China for sending senior government delegations and a large number of competitive enterprises to attend the EEF and expressed that developing the Far East is very promising and significant and Russia will work with China to actively implement cooperation projects in the Far East thus benefit the two peoples.

Wang Yang said that Your Excellency President just attended the commemorations for the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in Beijing and had a meeting with President Xi Jinping, which will surely bring new impetus to the further development of bilateral relations. China highly values its cooperation with Russia to develop the Far East. The delegation consisting of central and local government departments as well as large-scale enterprises led by me to attend the EEF is to implement the important consensuses reached by the two heads of state and promote bilateral practical cooperation in all areas in the Far East. China will join hands with Russia to expand investment cooperation in such fields as resource development, processing, manufacturing, modern agriculture, port, logistics and infrastructure construction so as to realize mutual benefit and win-win results and open up new space for bilateral practical cooperation.

After the meeting, Wang Yang and Vladimir Putin together visited the marine museum project in Maritime Kray of Russia. On the same day, Wang Yang attended the first EEF plenary meeting.

On September 5, Wang Yang and Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev of Russia co-hosted the first meeting of the Regional Cooperation Council of North-East China and the Russian Far East and attended the roundtable meeting between Chinese and Russian business circles.
