Liu Yandong Meets with Prime Minister Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan

On the afternoon of July 31 local time, Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with Prime Minister Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Liu Yandong conveyed President Xi Jinping’s greetings to President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Premier Li Keqiang’s greetings to Prime Minister Karim Massimov. Liu Yandong said that China and Kazakhstan are genuine and friendly comprehensive strategic partners. The relations between the two countries enjoy solid political basis and firm public support. The two sides should further strengthen cooperation in economy and trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and other fields, and enhance strategic synergy to achieve common development.

Liu Yandong paid esteem to the outstanding performance of Kazakhstan in bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics Games and its relentless pursuit of Winter Olympics. She expressed that China and Kazakhstan insist on a fair, open and friendly competition, which also is a vivid embodiment of the Olympic spirit. Whoever wins the bid, it is a joyful event for both countries.

Karim Massimov asked Liu Yandong to convey his greetings to Chinese leaders and congratulated China on the excellent performance in the presentation to bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics Games. Karim Massimov expressed that Kazakhstan and China are good friends and good partners, and whoever wins the bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, it is a joyful event for all Asian countries. The two sides should continue keeping close high-level exchanges and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges to elevate the Kazakhstan-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
