Zhang Gaoli Meets with Relevant Heads of State Attending ASEM Industry Dialogue on Connectivity

On May 26, 2015, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met in Chongqing respectively with Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhaily of Cambodia and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Peter Kažimír of the Slovak Republic, who came to attend the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) Industry Dialogue on Connectivity.

While meeting with Yim Chhaily, Zhang Gaoli said that China-Cambodia friendship goes back to the ancient times and has been continuously consolidated and developed amidst changing ages and international vicissitudes. High-level trust, sincere cooperation and mutual support have become the outstanding features of the bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Cambodia to implement the important consensus between leaders of the two countries, continuously keep high-level contacts, earnestly advance economic and trade cooperation, further people-to-people and cultural exchanges, push forward the cause of China-Cambodia friendship and deepen bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation to achieve common development and better benefit the two peoples. China pays high attention to strengthening cooperation with Cambodia in the area of connectivity, and welcomes Cambodia to actively participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road".

Yim Chhaily expressed thanks to China for its support and help in Cambodia's social and economic development, and said that Cambodia is willing to continually deepen the practical cooperation with China in all areas under the framework of the "Belt and Road".

When meeting with Peter Kazimir, Zhang Gaoli said that China and the Slovak Republic enjoy traditional friendship and have yielded fruitful achievements in the steady and sound development of the bilateral relations. There is a great potential for the practical cooperation between the two countries, and both sides should make full use of the mechanism of the inter-governmental joint economic committee and strengthen top-level design and overall planning to turn the cooperation between China and the Slovak Republic to a model driven by both trade and investment, promote breakthroughs in cooperation of major projects, expand new areas of financial cooperation and boost cooperation in innovative technology. China is willing to work with the Slovak Republic to push forward a more in-depth development of the China-Europe relations, and promote the cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries. China is also ready to strengthen the docking with the Slovak Republic and other Central and Eastern European countries to jointly push forward the connectivity cooperation between Asia and Europe and the construction of the "Belt and Road".

Peter Kažimír said that the Slovak Republic attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with China in a wide range of areas such as infrastructure and finance to promote a continuous development of the bilateral relations.

Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Committee Sun Zhengcai attended the above meetings.
