Li Keqiang Sends Message of Congratulation to David Cameron on His Victory in UK General Election

On May 8, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang sent a message to Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom (UK) to congratulate him on leading the Conservative Party to win the general election in the UK.

Li Keqiang stated in his congratulatory message that recent years have seen gratifying progress in China-UK relations and practical cooperation. Both China and the UK are countries with major influence, and enhanced friendship, deepened cooperation and close communication and coordination on international and regional affairs between the two sides will not only benefit both countries and their peoples, but also have positive global significance.

Li Keqiang stressed that China is willing to, together with the UK, strengthen mutual trust, expand cooperation and promote the China-UK comprehensive strategic partnership featuring common growth and inclusive development to constantly yield more new fruits. He looks forward to holding a new round of annual China-UK Prime Ministers' meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron at a mutually convenient time, so as to discuss and outline a grand blueprint for cooperation and development.
