Zhang Dejiang Meets with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of Argentina

On February 5, 2015, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of Argentina.

Zhang Dejiang expressed that President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Argentina in 2014, during which he and your Excellency the President announced the establishment of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership together. At the beginning of this year, your Excellency the President paid a successful visit to China, during which both sides signed the joint statement and a number of cooperation agreements, which charted the course for and injected strong impetus into the development of China-Argentina relations. The NPC of China and the Congress of the Argentine Nation have made tremendous contributions to promoting the facilitation of bilateral trade and investment and guaranteeing the legitimate rights and interests of the investors. Both sides should maintain close exchanges, comprehensively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, accelerate the approval process for the inter-governmental cooperation agreements, promote practical cooperation, intensify the friendship between the two peoples, and advance China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership for continuous progress.

Cristina Fernández de Kirchner expressed that her visit to China this time scored fruitful results and both sides will intensify cooperation in infrastructural construction, hydroelectric power, nuclear power, aviation and aerospace and other fields, lifting Argentina-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high. It is hoped that the legislative bodies of both sides could further boost exchanges and cooperation in this regard.
