Zhang Dejiang Meets with Prime Minister Manuel Valls of France

On January 30, 2015, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met with Prime Minister Manuel Valls of France at the Great Hall of the People.

Zhang Dejiang said that President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to France last year, and jointly agreed to open up the new era of a close and enduring China-France comprehensive strategic partnership with President François Hollande. The two countries have made new achievements in various fields of the bilateral cooperation. Both sides successfully held a series of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations, opening a new chapter in bilateral communication and mutual learning. The NPC of China is willing to keep close and friendly cooperation with the French Parliament, give full play to such platforms as the regular exchange mechanism and friendship groups, strengthen exchanges in such fields as legislation and create favorable conditions for the practical cooperation and personnel exchanges between the two countries so as to jointly push forward the development of the China-France relations.

Valls said that France is committed to deepening the all-round cooperation with China. The French Parliament is willing to strengthen friendly communication and cooperation with the NPC of China, so as to promote economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries and play an important role in pushing forward the development of bilateral relations.
