Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan

In the afternoon of January 21 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan in Davos.

Li Keqiang said that China and Kazakhstan are comprehensive strategic partners and the two sides keeping close contact is good for promoting rapid development of cooperation. During my visit to Kazakhstan last December, China and Kazakhstan reached consensus on developing capacity cooperation. The relevant departments of both countries are now speeding up connection, hoping to reach a package framework agreement as soon as possible. The two governments should actively guide their enterprises to play the main role in promoting early implementation of a group of priority cooperation projects as well as in progressive advancement of the projects on the basis of their maturity level. The two governments should well develop supporting services and make preparative planning in finance, investment, facilitating personnel exchanges and others. China is ready to enhance cooperation in such fields as railways and new energy with Kazakhstan.

Li Keqiang emphasized that China's export of advantageous and surplus capacity for cooperation in infrastructure construction on one hand meets the demand of relevant countries, benefitting local people's livelihood and achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcome, on the other hand can stimulate the growth of demand and thus helps curb deflation in the context of the declining of the global demand.

Massimov said that Kazakhstan-China capacity cooperation conforms to the common interests of both sides. Kazakhstan is ready to work actively with China for advancement and create favorable conditions for early achievement in such projects that are conducive to economic development of the two countries and beneficial to the people's livelihood. Kazakhstan is pleased to conduct cooperation with China in railways and energy.

On the same day, Li Keqiang also met with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, exchanging views on China-Serbia relations and topics of common interest.
