Li Keqiang Meets with Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab

In the evening of January 20 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab in Davos, Switzerland.

Li Keqiang expressed that the WEF is of important influence in international economic arena, and its annual winter meeting in Davos attracts world attention. Under the theme of "New Global Context", this year's annual meeting has a clear aim, in which we will discuss challenges facing mankind and opportunities they can size with emphasis on the development of international situation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the fundamentals of China's overall economic development remains good despite of current complicated global and domestic environment. We will continue implementing a positive fiscal policy and a stable monetary policy in a moderate manner, meanwhile focus more on structural reform. China's economy is marching toward a phase in which it will be featured by a more advanced form, a more complicated distribution and a more reasonable structure. Improving quality and effectiveness of as well as upgrading China's economy will not only lay a sound foundation for its own development in the future but also make important contribution to safeguarding the stability and healthy development of world economy and finance. China will further deepen cooperation with the WEF and hopes it continuously make positive contribution to the mutual understanding between China and the international community.

Klaus Schwab welcomed Li Keqiang to attend the WEF annual meeting 2015, and expressed his hope that Li Keqiang will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony thus to bring more Chinese wisdom and voice to world economy and global agenda. Klaus Schwab said that nowadays China is playing a more and more important role in global political and economic systems. The WEF will expand its cooperation with China and support it to play a more vital role in the international arena.
