Wang Yi: Hope China, Nepal, and India Could Forge Trilateral Relations Characterized by Mutual Promotion, Positive Cycle and Active Interaction

On December 26, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met the press together with Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey of Nepal after their talks, expressing that the Chinese side hopes China, Nepal and India maintain the relations featuring mutual promotion, positive cycle and active interaction.

Wang Yi said both India and Nepal are China's important neighbors. China hopes that China-India relations and China-Nepal relations will both enjoy a sound development. At present, China-India relations maintain a good development momentum and the two countries are cooperating in a wide range of areas. China is also pleased to see better development of Nepal-India relations.

Wang Yi said Nepal is located between two large neighboring countries, China and India, and enjoys the unique geographical location. It is hoped that Nepal can serve as a bridge and tie linking China and India and helping China to develop relations with South Asia.

Wang Yi said China is willing to explore the possibility of the trilateral cooperation among China, Nepal and India in due time. As good friends and good neighbors, the three countries should strengthen cooperation and seek common development, jointly safeguard the peace and stability in the region and contribute to the rejuvenation of the region.
