Zhang Dejiang Meets with President Ollanta Moisés Humala Tasso of Peru

On November 12, 2014, Chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Zhang Dejiang met with President Ollanta Moisés Humala Tasso of Peru at the Great Hall of the People.

Zhang Dejiang said that in recent years, the China-Peru relations have achieved rapid development. Last year President Xi Jinping and President Humala jointly announced to upgrade the bilateral relations to the comprehensive strategic partnership and the bilateral relations have since then entered a new stage of historical development. The Chinese side has always and persistently cherished the China-Peru relations from a strategic and long-term perspective and stands ready to make joint efforts with the Peruvian side to further deepen cooperation in various fields and promote sustained and in-depth development of the bilateral relations. The Chinese NPC is willing to work with the Peruvian Congress to enhance the exchange of experience in governance and administration of state affairs, and to discuss the way to create a sound legal environment for the promotion of bilateral practical cooperation from a new positioning of China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to make greater contributions to the development of the bilateral relations.

Humala said the Peru-China comprehensive strategic partnership is of great significance to Peru. Peru is willing to continuously consolidate and develop cooperation with China and the Peruvian Congress is ready to play a positive role in this regard.
